This laboratory work is dedicated to loading, preprocessing, and basic statistical analysis in the field of retail based on data on global food prices obtained from the World Food Programme website, covering products such as corn, rice, beans, fish, and sugar, for 76 countries and about 1500 markets.

The main problem to be solved in this lab work is the loading, preprocessing, and statistical analysis, including the visualization of the dataset.

The main difficulty of statistical analysis of real data lies in the fact that it is prepared or presented in a form that is not convenient for machine learning methods. Very often, real data consists of mixed information presented on different scales. Therefore, this data needs to be identified and rescaled or recalculated. This lab work demonstrates methods for automatic preprocessing of real data. The next challenge is the ability to effectively manipulate and transform large data to produce a convenient statistical report in both tabular form and as graphs.
