IBM® Cloud® is an open-standards, cloud platform that provides both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities for building, running, and managing applications. With IBM Cloud, developers can focus on building excellent user experiences with flexible compute options, choice of DevOps tooling, and a powerful set of IBM and third-party APIs and services.

This course helps you understand the fundamentals of cloud computing, IBM Cloud, services, and Cloud Foundry applications. You will be introduced to the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) concepts such as virtual servers, Docker containers, serverless computing with OpenWhisk and cloud object storage. However, main emphasis of this course is on the Platform as a Service capabilities delivered by the Cloud Foundry runtimes and buildpacks. You will learn how to quickly deploy and modify an application in Node.js by using IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery. You will also learn how to use the IBM Cloud command line to deploy applications, understand the foundations of the Cloud Foundry architecture, and use buildpacks.
