Data Science: Basic Statistics and Simulation Modeling in Python (Hands-On)
46 Spadina Avenue
THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS.
We will review basic statistics that is an integral part of a data scientist toolkit including sampling, distributions, statistical summaries and hypothesis testing. We will look at analyzing a marketing dataset with statistical techniques in Python during a hands-on session.
In the second part of the meetup, we will learn why and how to use simulation modeling to make decisions in the presence of uncertainty. We will use simulation modeling in Python to plan our retirement investment.
This lecture is half lecture and half hands-on. Please bring your laptops if you’d like to take part trying out the algorithms in Python.
You need to register for Data Scientist Workbench (datascientistworkbench.com) before this meet up (also referred to as BDU Labs)
Audience: Beginners in Data Science and Data Science Enthusiasts
Presenter: Oleksandr Romanko, Senior Research Analyst at IBM and Adjunct Professor at University of Toronto
Free Pizza and Drinks! Come learn, eat, and socialize!
We will live stream the event on a best effort basis.
