THIS MEETUP IS AT CAPACITY.  NO MORE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN.   PLEASE NOTE THAT IT WILL BE LIVESTREAMED.   WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN OUR LIVESTREAM BELOW.

This meetup is for beginners to join the exciting world of data science with Python.  Please take a minute to register and create an account on Big Data University before the meetup.

In the meetup, we will cover popular classification algorithms including:

– k-Nearest Neighbors

– Logistic Regression

– Support Vector Machines

We will study how these classification methods work, some of their benefits and drawbacks. We will then apply these methods to real data sets using Pandas and Scikit-learn during a hands-on session.

This lecture half lecture and half hands-on. Please bring your laptops if you’d like to take part trying out the algorithms in Python.

Audience: Beginners in Data Science and Data Science Enthusiasts

Presenters: Joseph Santarcangelo, Data Scienstist at IBM and Saeed Aghabozorgi, Data Scientist at IBM

Free Pizza and Drinks! Come learn, eat, and socialize!

We will live stream the event on a best effort basis.

Thank you to Lighthouse Labs for providing the space for our meetup this week.

Lighthouse Labs community of mentors consists of over 80 developers. Currently hiring.  You can check out the full list of  postings and apply here.
